Rose E. Malley, of Venice, LA, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Ochsner West Bank at the age of 81. She was born on January 2, 1938 in Bay St. Louis, MS. She was the wife of Ned F. Malley Sr., married on July 17, 1954 in Bay St. Louis, MS. Rose worked for Chevron oil for a short period of time. She also worked for the Post Office in Venice, LA, before retiring before Hurricane Katrina. She was the mother of Paula M. Rasberry and husband Nicholas of Kenner, LA; Ned F. Malley Jr. of Buras, LA; Robert M. Malley and wife Belinda of Kenner, LA. She had four grandchildren: Jonathan, Jamie, Bridget and Derek; and three great-grandchildren: Mikell, Madison and Avery. Preceding in death by her parents, Roger Estapa and Mary Moran; and son, Roger Paul Malley, who died at birth. Rose will be cremated, and services will be held at a later date.

She was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, LA. Daughter of the late Felician and Agnes Barthelemy. Devoted wife of the late Curry Leonard Ancar. Beloved mother of Joyce (Adam) Sylve, Stephanie (Irvin) St. Ann, Curry (LaToiya) Ancar and Jody Ancar. Sister of Anna (late Wilmer) Ancar and Grace (Wilbert) LaCross. Sister-in-law of Winnie (late Mazie) Ancar. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Jane Marjorie Phillips Bartholomew departed this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Lucedale, MS, at the age of 84. She was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, LA. Daughter of the late Eddie Phillips Sr. and Angelique Bartholomew Phillips. Devoted wife of the late Carol Leo Bartholomew. Beloved mother of Kathy Bartholomew, Dwight (Jeanie) Bartholomew and the late Frankie Bartholomew. Loving grandmother of Necolle (Quindell) Alexis, Chad (Kelly) Alexis and Sajan Bartholomew. Grandfather of Mikeala, Evan, Michael Jr., Angel and Ryder. Son of the late Florence Callhover Gros and Armand A. Gros. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Armand was a lifelong resident of Buras, LA, and worked for Hunt Petroleum as a compressor mechanic. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Cynthia Noble Pastor, of New Orleans, LA, died on January 30, 2019 at the age of 69. Cindy was born on March 7, 1949 in Leonardtown, MD. Her father Walton Bishop “Charlie” Noble was a Navy pilot stationed at Patuxent River, Maryland, at the time of her birth. She was a Navy brat until Charlie and her mother Geraldine “Gerry” Duhon Noble moved the family home to Belle Chasse, LA, when Cindy was 13 years old. Cindy graduated from Dominican High School and then attended LSU and transferred to Dominican College where she earned a degree in education. After college she spent a year in Paris, working as an au pair and studying French at the Sorbonne University. She married David Swords of New Orleans in 1980 and they had a daughter, Melanie. Cindy loved children and was a natural teacher. She was a strong believer in Montessori education and got her start teaching at Oberlin Montessori. In 1985, she married Anthony Pastor of New Orleans and together they built Montessori of the Riverlands School in Destrehan, Louisiana. She later earned a master’s degree in early childhood education from UNO. Cindy’s family lovingly called her “the child whisperer.” In 1999, Cindy met her husband Ben, and together they embarked on an epic sailing adventure across the Pacific Ocean. They settled on the island of Pohnpei, in the Federated States of Micronesia, in 2009. Within two weeks Cindy had a job teaching English at the College of Micronesia. She became popular on the island where “Nana Cindy” was known as a generous and faithful woman. She thrived as an ex-pat, but spent a month each summer in Corpus Christi, Texas, with her daughter and family. She died of breast cancer, at home in Pohnpei, with her loving husband at her side. Cindy will be loved and missed by surviving husband Ben; daughter Melanie Swords Joyce (Charles), and grandsons Dominic, Jonathan and Travis; sisters Victoria Weiner and Nancy Abbott, and brother John; nieces, nephews and a myriad of friends around the world. Cindy will be buried on the island of Pohnpei.

Joyce O’Farrell Pierron passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, surrounded by her family at the age of 77. She is survived by her children Jerilyn P Richoux (Brian) and Michael Pierron (Kim); grandchildren Tiffany P Caillavet (Waite), Christie Richoux Chris), Christopher Pierron (Morgan), and Brandon Richoux (Blaire); and great-grandchildren Collins Pierron and Tinley Caillavet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Bertelson Carter and Dallas O’Farrell; and her brother, Robert O’Farrell. Joyce worked tirelessly to care for family and friends, always putting the needs of others first. She was a dedicated bus driver for Plaquemines Parish Schools for nearly 25 years. She loved to cook and bake sweets, especially peanut butter fudge. The family wishes to thank the staff of Singing River Hospital and Hospice of Light in Pascagoula, MS, for the compassionate care that they gave to our mother for the last month. Joel Ivan Schoenberger, of Buras, LA, passed away on January 23, 2019 at the age of 49. He was the son of Morris “Maurice” Ivan Schoenberger, Jr. and Marlene Acosta Schoenbeger. A graduate of Buras High School Class of 1987, he also served his country while actively enlisted in the United States Navy for 4 years. Through his Naval experience he became an Able Seaman - Unlimited. While stationed in Norfolk, VA, he became a member of the First United Pentecostal Church where he attended until returning to Buras in 2005. Once he was back in Louisiana, he joined the Pentecostals of Marrero where he was faithful to study the Bible and spend time in daily prayer. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Morris Ivan Schoenbeger, Sr., Ursula Schoenberger, Richard Acosta and Louise Acosta. He is survived by brother Scott Schoenberger of Chalmette; sister Michelle Schoenberger (Daniel) of Marrero; niece Mallory Smith; nephew Tony “T.J.” Smith, Jr.; and great-nephew Blake LeCompte. A visitation and funeral service was held at Mothe Funeral Home 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on January 31, 2019. Mothe Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Ella Grace Todaro passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 24, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born September 2, 1927 in Gretna, LA, to Clara Arnold Williams and Lawrence Williams. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Camille Todaro. She is also preceded in death by her sister Clara Todaro (Vincent) and brother Charles Williams. She is survived by her children Kathleen LaValla (Sam), Russell Todaro (Pam) and Melanie Langteau (Greg), half-sister Dr. Ollie Gatewood (Kenneth); grandchildren Todd LaValla, Christine Breland, Brandy DiMaggio, Russell Todaro Jr., Olivia Thornton, Michael Langteau, Catherine Johnson and Daniel Langteau. She also leaves behind loving great grand children Demi DiMaggio, Allison DiMaggio, Jason LaValla, Nicholas LaValla, Hunter Breland, Matthew LaValla, Dylan DiMaggio, Drake Breland, Anthony Todaro, Beckett Thornton and Harrison Thornton. Also survived by her brother-inlaw Claude Todaro, Vincent Todaro, and sister-in-law Rose Crescionie. Although she was a busy homemaker, she found the time to be a community leader as the President of the Infant Jesus of Prague Altar Society, Homedale Elementary PTA and the John Ehret Booster Club. She enjoyed being church fair chairman at Infant Jesus for many years. Later in life, she was past officer for the Belle Chasse chapter of the AARP and was a longtime member of the Plaquemines Parish Council of Aging. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse. Yet, she was most proud of her work as a CCD teacher at Infant Jesus of Prague and O.L.P.H. She loved to travel, going on over 60 cruises with family and friends. Her true love was her devotion to her family and to God. In a celebration of life well lived with devotion to God and family, relatives and friends attended visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Saturday January 26, 2019 followed by a Mass and burial at Westlawn Cemetery. The children of Ella Grace have very special thanks to their Aunt Rose and cousin June for their loving help with their mother’s care for the past 4 1/2 years. Mr. Ancar was retired from Plaquemines Parish Government P.R.O.W.M. Department with many years of dedicated service. Son of the late Louise Sylve Ancar and Theopile Ancar Sr. Beloved husband of Rita Mae Turner Ancar. Devoted father of Herbert Paul Ancar Jr., Hillarie (Charde’) Ancar, Heather Ancar (Torey Sr.) Duncan, and the late Catina Phillips. Cherished grandfather of Chandler Ancar, Trayana Ancar, Torilynn Duncan, Toren Duncan, Cade Ancar, Toriane Duncan and Torey Duncan Jr. Brother of Rogers (Paula) Ancar and Diane (late Norman Sr.) Phillips. Bernadette Therese “Tini” Duet passed from this life on Thursday, January 31, 2019, after a long illness at the age of 55. She was the daughter of Collins J. and Genevieve M. Duet of Belle Chasse. Tini graduated from Belle Chasse High School in 1981 and remained in contact with many of her classmates and former teachers. She then graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in English. Following graduation, Tini worked for several local firms where she was employed as a Technical Writer. After a fulfilling career at the John C. Stennis Space Center, she worked as an independent contractor. She had a love for the University of New Orleans, was a tireless promoter of the University and was active in the Alumni Association. She was an avid Saints and LSU fan as well. She enjoyed the theater, singing Karaoke, and spending time with her four sisters. For many years she enjoyed the moniker of “The Hat Lady” and seemed to have a hat for any and all occasions. Those attending on Tuesday are welcome to wear a hat - appropriate for the purpose of our gathering - to honor Tini in a special way. An always generous heart, quick wit, and beautiful smile will be among the many things she was known for and among the traits that will be most missed. She was pre-deceased by her parents and is survived by her sisters, Charmaine Theriot (Edward), Elizabeth “Betty” Quinn (Thomas), Katherine Schexnayder (Neill), Rita Casler (Leslie), and brothers John Duet, Collins “Uncle Frank” Duet (Donna) and Daniel Duet, numerous nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, and great-great niece/nephew. Sandra G LaBelle passed away peacefully at her daughters’ home in Belle Chasse LA on February 2, 2019 at the age of 73. She was born on October 31, 1945 in Louisville KY. Sandra married the love of her life James E. LaBelle Sr., Gunny Sargent US Marine Corp. in December 1985 where they instantly embraced one another’s children and created a loving home where all were welcomed. Sandra has been a dedicated member of the DAV for 33 years where her passion and love of country has driven her to serve as Commander Auxiliary DAV West Bank Chapter 23. Additionally, she was a member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary Paul E. Boyd. Wife of devoted husband James E. Calvin Peter Riche died on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his home in Mandeville, Louisiana, following a brief illness. He was 92. A native of New Orleans and resident of St. Bernard Parish for 20 years and of Braithwaite (Plaquemines Parish) for 20 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Desire Bernard Riche, Jr. and Olivia Roques Riche, as well as brothers, Cedric, Roy, Lloyd, and Claude. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marion Gumina Riche and his daughter, Diane M. Riche, as well as his brother, Elwood, and sister, Eloise Riche Vidal. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Mr. Riche attended St. Cecilia Catholic School and was a graduate of Holy Cross High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving on the USS Cullman in the Pacific Theater and returned to active duty during the Korean War, stationed in Hawaii. Mr. Riche could recount in great detail stories from his service years, of which he was extremely proud. A member of the National WWII Museum, he celebrated his 90th birthday at a surprise party with family and friends at the Stage Door Canteen. During his career, he built a very successful contracting business, constructing hundreds of homes in the Metropolitan area. With his beloved wife Marion, and good friend and business partner, Jim Brown, he established The Locker, women’s retail clothing stores, in Chalmette, Slidell, and Covington. During his lifetime Mr. Riche was a self-less, giving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to both family and strangers in need. His efforts following Hurricane Betsy to assist flood victims and rebuild homes in St. Bernard were never forgotten. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2:00PM. Sarah Sr. and Mercy Plaisance Sarah in New Orleans, but was raised in Westwego and resided for many years in Marrero. Devoted husband of Mrs. Kathy Fabre Sarah for almost 47 years. Loving father of Gina Sarah (Ronnie), Eugene J. Sarah III (Shelly), Patrick Sarah (Lauren), and Patricia Sarah (Dean). Cherished grandfather of Maghen Sarah, Courtney Schmidt, Tristan Sarah, Morgan Sarah, Mason Correnti, Ian Correnti, Kaiden Lagarde, Makayla Lagarde, Kalaya Gonzalez, Kaylee Williams, Zoey Sarah, Clarence Laicen Lacombe IV, Kazz Fontanille, alyssa Fontanille, and Joshua Fontanille. Great-grandfather of Tristan Sarah Jr., and Annabeth Schmidt. Brother of Judy Gehring (the late Ralph), Malcolm Sarah (Sandra), Gladys Gautreaux (Gary), and Michael Sarah (Wendy). Godfather of Heidi Ford and Malcolm Sarah Jr. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He retired from Versabar, Inc. in Belle Chasse where he was a heavy equipment operator. Before that he worked off shore for many years. Susan Ann Simon was born to the late Vincent Williams and Rose Mary Espadron. She was also the daughter of the late Raymond Espadron, Sr. and Hilda Williams. She was the devoted wife of 22 years to Dave Simon. After a courageous battle, “Suzy”, as she was affectionately referred to by family and friends, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 25, 2019. Susan grew up in Pointe-ala-Hache, Louisiana and later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she received her high school diploma from Francis T. Nicholls High School. During her time there, Susan met her life-long friend Leatrice Warren. She experienced ultimate joy when she gave birth to her daughters, Anisha and Delica. Susan instilled the love of family, education, and a strong sense of independence in her daughters. She raised them to be respectful, faithful, and God-fearing women. She loved traveling to be with her girls, no matter where they were. Susan entered into holy matrimony with Dave Simon in 1996. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends and dancing the night away. Their most enjoyable experiences were traveling cross-country in their RV visiting many different areas of the United States. Many weeks, starting in August, they would travel with their fellow football crew to tailgate at Southern University football games. They were very proud of the boys in blue and gold. Susan spent her career as a police officer at Louisiana State University Medical Center. She was dedicated to her profession and served the community for over 30 years. She was also a loyal member of Cornerstone Christian Center under the leadership of Pastors James “Jimmy” and Frances Autry. Susan had a profound faith in God and a dedicated prayer life which became the mainstay of her life. She never lost sight of God’s faithfulness. To know “Suzy” was to absolutely love her. Her smile was radiant enough to light up any room. Her infectious spirit consumed all she encountered. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Mary Espadron, her father, Vincent Williams, her step-father, Raymond Espadron, Sr., her sisters, Helen Griffin and Carolyn Encalade and her brother, Kerry Williams. Susan leaves to cherish her fondest memories her husband, Dave Simon, her daughters Dr. Anisha Roussel and Delica Austin (Joel), her step-daughters Felicia Simon and Shante Childs (Bilaal), her grandchildren Lillian and Kaitlyn Hardy, Jada Roussel, Iyanna and Micah Austin, De’Ja Sawyer, Marquise Guitroz, Bilaal, Jr., Khalil, and Omari Childs, her sisters Rose Griffin (Clarence), Peggy Williams (Vernon, Sr.), Marlena Cowart (Edward, Jr.), Stacey Williams, and Elizabeth Williams, her Godsons Vernon Williams, Jr. and Jawan Bentley and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was a graduate of Scottville High School, where she excelled as an outstanding basketball player. Loving grandmother of Tamare’al, Toi, Kennedi, and Kassadi Ross, Keith Webber, Jr., Derionne Calderon, and Dorian Henry. Daughter of the late Oliver and Hilda Jones Grandison. Rose Mary Territa of Belle Chasse, LA, passed away in her home on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the age of 83. Rose Mary was born in her family home in Belle Chasse on January 6, 1936 to Vincent and Sarah (Potier) Protti. She was raised in Belle Chasse and lived there most of her life. To many who knew her, Rose Mary was an exceptional woman. She was gifted with two green thumbs and created beautiful flower-filled yards wherever she lived. Roses were her favorite flower and at one time, she had over 70 rose bushes in her yard, much to the delight of passersby. She was also a skilled seamstress and sewed beautiful clothing for her children and grandchildren. She took up painting in her 70’s and left behind a small gallery of wonderful art. Rose Mary had compassion for animals and provided a loving home for several rescued pets during her lifetime. She also loved to fish and spent many happy hours with her line in the water. In her 40’s, Rose Mary returned to school and became an LPN, working at Belle Chasse State School then Hammond State School for over 20 years, until her retirement. As a young woman, she and a close friend, Adele Valliant, along with eight children, traveled throughout the US, camping out in National Parks, gifting her children with lifelong memories of adventure and extraordinary places. She was an independent woman of strong moral character, perseverance and ingenuity, who found creative solutions to manage the limitations she experienced with aging. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was highly respected and much loved by her family and friends. Rose Mary is survived by her two daughters, Nanette (Danny Prejean) Territa-Prejean of Lake Charles, Sharon Territa of Lake Charles and one son, Michael (Tina) Territa of Belle Chasse; Granddaughters, Amber (David) Dorr, Caitlyn (Gary) Williams, Brianna (Cody) Sciacca and Amanda Hirstius; grandson, Anthony “Tony” (Ashleigh) Territa; 11 great-grandchildren and brothers, Nicholas Protti and Bill (Romona) Protti as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony Territa and her sister, Nancy (Protti) Foerster. Family and friends attend the funeral services at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, LA on Thursday, February 7, 2019, and again on Friday,February 8, 2019.
