Toney Deanne Wright Swain was born July 8, 1960 in Natchez, Mississippi, and was the daughter of the late Wayne Lee Wright, Sr. and Joy Toney Wright. She was a longtime resident of Farmerville, Louisiana. She passed away on November 2019 in Farmerville, Louisiana. She was a 1978 graduate of Delta Heritage Academy in Buras, Louisiana where she was active in band and in yearbook staff. She was a member of South Parkway Worship Center of Ruston, Louisiana. Her faith in God sustained her throughout her life. She is survived by one child, Destini Bubrig Miller and husband, Eddie, of Amite, Louisiana; sister, Pamela Gail Wright Munsterman and husband, Curt, of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, sister, Elizabeth Suzanne Wright Ortego and husband, Sam, of Farmerville, Louisiana, brother, Wayne Lee Wright, Jr. and wife, Lynette, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; grandchildren Julia Elizabeth Bubrig, Sampson Kyle Henshaw, Darby Blanche Miller, Tess Elizabeth Miller and Reed Nelson Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to The American Stroke Foundation in her memory.

Wayne Walters, a gentle giant, was lovingly known by several nicknames such as "Skeeter,""Skeet,""GQ Brother," and "Slick," to family members and friends, but he was affectionately known as "Lover" only to his wife. The eighth child of ten siblings, Wayne was born on November 18, 1955 at 12:38 a.m. at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of the late Audrey Mae "Dee Dee" Stewart and Ernest "Stick" Walters, Sr., of Marrero, Louisiana. His health battle ended on October 30, 2019 at 3 p.m. He had memberships at Second Highway Baptist Church, Garden of Prayer, Temple of Praise, and Household of Faith Ministries. Wayne attend Percy Julian Elementary, Lincoln Middle, and West Jefferson High School. He also attended Southern University at New Orleans. He served in the US Marine Corps and Air Force-ANGUS retiring after 20 years of services as a Technical Sergeant. His name is engraved on a monument in front of Jackson Barracks for his service in Operation Desert Storm's Gulf War. Wayne retired in June 2015 after 34.5 years at Chevron Chemical Oronite Oak Point Plant in Belle Chasse, LA. On February 6, 1982, Wayne married Carmen Jean Hawkins and began his life-long residency in Harvey, LA. This duo produced two beautiful girls; Taeshaun Henre' Walters (Carlos, Jr.) and Tierra Waynette Walters Mackie (Calvin). Wayne became an avid entrepreneur, real estate investor, and a person who loved to save. He established WayCar Enterprises more than 30 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Mae "Dee Dee" and Ernest "Stick" Walters, Sr., his siblings: Ernest "Doc" Walters, Jr., Raymond "Lit" Walters, and a devoted friend, Charles Jackie Turner, his mother and father-inlaw, Thomas "Do-Man" and Ophelia Scott Hawkins. He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Carmen of 37 years, daughters, Taeshaun and Tierra, beloved sons-in-law Calvin Mackie, and Carlos Craig, Jr., four brothers; Calvin, Thomas (Loma), Rudolph (Patricia), Jackie (Marie), a devoted cousin, Robert Thomas (Dorothy), three sisters, Audrey Walters Camp, Betty Walters, and Judy Williams. Six brothers-in-law, Thomas Hawkins (Dorothy), Alton T.C. Hawkins (Idessa), Kirbie Hawkins (Doris), Ronald Hawkins (Iris), Jarvis Hawkins (Vera), James Hawkins (Elaine). Four sisters-in-law, Thelma Washington (George), Claudette Hawkins Autrey, Debra Johnson (Kenneth), Angela Horne (Shanan) devoted friends, Carlos and Stacy Craig, Pastor Joe and Glenda Cross, Garry and Suzon Lemar, Charles and Ursula Allen, Christopher and Christine Fridia, Craig Lewis, three godchildren Antoinette Hawkins, Kenya Johnson, and Keianna Horne, godparents, Lena Ketchens and Chester Joseph, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of Delta Marie Turlich Ballay announces her passing at home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Delta was born on April 17, 1953, in Port Sulphur, LA. She graduated from Delta Heritage Academy and married her high school sweetheart Louis. During their 48-year marriage, they welcomed three children and six grandchildren. Delta was a strong, dedicated, and selfless wife and mother. She encouraged her children to make the right decisions, keep others in mind, and follow their hearts and dreams. Delta was the first born of five girls and the matriarch of her family. She was a generous, driven woman who spent every day doing for others. Delta was strong in her Catholic faith and attended mass regularly. After moving to Ponchatoula, LA, Delta was a successful mortgage loan officer and accomplished Realtor helping others fulfill their dream of home ownership. She has been a rock and guardian angel to many. Delta was passionate about family, enjoyed traveling, and making others happy. Delta is survived by her loving husband Louis E. Ballay III; her children Nicole “Niki” Ballay Roig, Brendan Ballay (Renee), and Rene’ Ballay Chauvin (Andrew); and her mother Faith Ann Subat Turlich. She will be forever remembered as “MiMi” to her grandchildren Chad Roig II, Hunter Roig, Gavin Chauvin, Brady Ballay, Emmalee Ballay, and Evan Chauvin. Delta is also survived by sisters Belinda Harvey Scandurro, Bridget Dickinson (Michael), Connie Colligan (Tilghmon), Corinne “Corie” Jeanne’ (Tommy); an brother-in-law Glenn Ballay (Vicky); her Aunt Gloria T. Rogers; and a host of cousins and close friends. Delta was preceded in death by Peter Turlich Jr., Thelma Ballay, Louis “Eddie” E. Ballay II; Hattie Barrios, Barbara Jukes, and Gerald “Jerry” Turlich. Relatives and friends of the family attended the visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Monday, November 18, 2019. Father Cayet will officiated the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Margaret Cemetery in Albany, LA. Robert William Etharidge passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in New Orleans at the age of 74. He was born September 20, 1945 to the late Ivy Earl Etharidge and Lucille “Bernice” Bagert Etharidge. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Rowena J. “Jeanie” Shepherd Etharidge, and daughter Amy Etharidge Kluck (Tom). Three grandchildren William, Andrew, and Rowen Kluck of Vuibroye, Switzerland. Brother to Ilene E. Kelly (Jimmy) . He is also survived by in-laws Caroline and Dalton Pollet, “Skip” and Frances Shepherd and by numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a graduate of John McDonough Sr. High School class of 1963. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He proudly served his country with an enlistment in the US Naval Air Reserve at Belle Chasse. He was an accounts manager employed with PATCO Food Safety Consultants. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crabbing, and the company of his grandchildren. He was an avid Saints fan. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Carl Mixon, his longtime friend, who aided Robert in his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Private services will be held at Garden of Memories, Metairie, Louisiana. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated by the family.

Mary Dell Tinsley passed peacefully at the age of 78. She now joins her parents, L.M. “Chick” Tinsley and Juliet Adams Tinsley, in eternal peace. She is survived by her brother, Dale M. Tinsley (Anna). She also leaves behind her daughter, Simone Tinsley Franceski Wiltz (Ty) and son, John S. Franceski, II (Denise); Grandchildren: Jacob and Mamie Wiltz, Sienna Franceski, Ashley Bolan (Tyler), Mario Martinez, Candace Markey (Chris); Nephews: Ricky Tinsley (Melissa) and Dale M. Tinsley, Jr. (Heidi); Nieces: Trisha Tinsley, Trina Tinsley and Vicki, Monica & Jackie Tinsley. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, two great-nieces and one great-nephew and many more loving cousins and friends. Mary Dell grew up in Belle Chasse, LA. She represented Plaquemines Parish as Orange Queen in 1957. She was a resident of Plaquemines Parish for 50 years where she served as a teacher and Director of Special Education for 28 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life and was most happy visiting and spending time with her family and friends. Ruby Marie Roth passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the age of 54. Born on March 20, 1965 at Port Sulphur Hospital, she was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. Graduated from Port Sulphur High School, she attended college where she earned a degree in both Criminal Justice and Drafting. She then became employed by the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office through Jiff Hingle’s administration. She then joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, where she served for several years. For the last few years, she has been helping her father. Anyone who knew her knew that she had a kind heart and would help anyone out. She never met a stranger and loved to talk. She is survived by her parents, Leo Roth, Jr. and June Carolyn Purgley; sister Greta Roth Frelich (Kevin); niece Shantelle Frelich Petrovich (Kuzma); three nephews David Frelich, Jake Frelich and Colby Frelich; great-niece Mila Petrovich; three great-nephews Kaden Petrovich, Hunter Frelich and Vedran Petrovich; and her partner in life and faithful friend, Jeanette Guillot. Andrew James “Jake” White, who passed away on November 17, 2019 at his residence in Covington, LA at the age of 33. He graduated from Acadiana High School where he played football. He was a proud United States Marine and Afghanistan Combat Veteran. Jake was also a safety technician for J. S. Held of New Orleans. He was currently working at Phillips 66 Refinery in Belle Chasse, LA. He is survived by his father, David White; children Ryan and Annelise White and their mother, Grace Katherine; brother Davis Edwin White of Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Zima White; maternal grandparents, Richard and Donna Zima; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Beulah White. Family and friends attended a visitation at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, November 21, 2019, and the funeral services on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Asbury United Methodist Church. The services were conducted by Reverend John Cannon, Senior Pastor. Interment took place on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Big Creek Cemetery, Pollock, LA. William M. “Mackie” Becnel, Jr. passed peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of 74 years of Elsie Mae Ballay Becnel. Cherished brother of Vera Becnel and the late Lester C. Becnel. Son of the late William M. Becnel, Sr. and Leocadie Martin Becnel. Uncle Randy Becnel (Kathy) and the late Bridget Becnel. Also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Known to friends and family as “Mackie,” he was born on August 10, 1921. After graduating from Port Sulphur High School he served the United States Navy during World War II. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he worked for many years for Freeport Sulphur Co. before ultimately retiring from Bass Enterprises. Always active in his community, Mackie belonged to several organizations including the VFW, American Legion and AARP. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight and held several prominent offices through the years. In 1991, he was honored to receive the Order of St. Louis Medal. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church and worked well into his eighties at the Tuesday Night Bingo’s. Mackie was a true gentleman and will be missed by all for his genuine warmth and kindness. Lydia Sylve Carter passed away peacefully at her home on November 17, 2019 at the age of 95. Beloved mother of the late Priscella Ann “Pam” Renojo (Eddie). Grandmother of Rhonda Denett Sierra (Marvin), Suzanne Denett Jones (Darryl), and Colonel Mark Sorapuru (Mona). Great-grandmother of Amanda Denett Brown (Joshua), Alexandria Sierra, Taylor Kloiber, Abigail Sorapuru and Mark Sorapuru Jr. Daughter of the late Louis Sylve, Sr. and Linda Casbon Sylve. Sister of Royal Sylve, Elliott Sylve, and Angelina Sylve Pantoja, and the late Louis Sylve, Jr., Ernest Sylve, Olivia Sylve Trahan, Eula Sylve Phillips, and Hilton Sylve. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A native of Point a la Hache, LA and resident of Terrytown, LA. Lydia was a pioneer in her family having migrated to the Bronx, NY, for 25 years, bringing her family there to create a second home for them to flourish. “Ta-Tel” will be lovingly remembered for helping family and friends with her precious knowledge, wisdom, and cooking. Husband of Sharmaine Washington Merrick. Father of David Merrick and Myron Turner. Stepfather of James (Zhallimar) Harris. Brother of Merlisha, Bruce, Karry Sr. (Debra), Andrew (Cheryl), Iris (Rachel) and Jimmy Merrick, Melinda (Harland Louis) Franklin and Peggy Garrett. Grandson of the late Olma and Williams Taylor, Zickley Jones and Andrew Merrick. Son in law of the late Mildred Cannon Washington and George Washington Sr. Brother in law of Sharlene (Herman) Mackey, Robin (Dwight Sr.) Jones, George (Kristy) Washington Jr. and Rodney (Nekitha) Washington. She was a native of Buras, LA, and a longtime resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved daughter of Elmire Mitchell Rogers and the late Carroll Charles Rogers. Devoted Companion of Nathan Bell. Sister of Vallerie Rogers, Elmer (Angie) Rogers, Darlene (Rigo) Durden, Sandra Rogers and Jamie Smith. Granddaughter of the late Pauline and Elmer Mitchell and Aldine and Carroll Rogers. Aunt of Oriel Jones Stanley, Raphael Jones, Roschad Manuel, Malik and Millenia Prout, Logan and Admirel Durden and Binta Francis. Devoted friend of Margaret Tanner, Jennifer Clark, Amber Alexander and Lisa Riley. Rose Keyser Boyd joined her beloved husband, Donald L. Boyd Sr., in heaven on December 5, 2019, at the age of 86. She was born on July 28, 1933, and was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA. She peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home. Loving mother of the late John M. Boyd, Donald L. Boyd Jr., Gary S. Boyd (Cindy), and Stacy L. Boyd. Grandmother of Samantha, Anthony, Andrew, Katie, and Kristian. Sister of Archie Keyser Jr., aunt of Archie Keyser III and Kris Keyser. She is also survived by six greatgrandchildren. Grammy, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, will always be remembered for her loving, caring, angelic-like personality. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her and her memory will be forever loved and cherished.
