Kennith Paul Madere passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 63. He was a native of Plaquemines Parish and resident of Metairie for 24 years. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Joyce Madere. Beloved husband of Jeanne Douglass Madere and loving father to Jessica Wiest Breslin (Tommy). Devoted grandfather to Louise G. and Camille D. Breslin. His work as a Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist included many years of overseas travel. He greatly enjoyed cooking and fishing. Ken's spirit of generosity contributed to his reputation of throwing some of the best celebrations in town. Leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter to his numerous family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ken's memory to the American Cancer Society at 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121. Rita Lucille Plaisance peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the age of 83. Former wife of the late Joseph E. Landry, Sr. Longtime companion of the late Melvin "Pappy" Albarado. Daughter of the late Leon J. Plaisance and Maggie Orgeron Plaisance. Loving, devoted and beloved mother of Joetta Landry-Bagwell (Husband Mark) and Joseph E. Landry (Wife Heidi). Loving grandmother of Alysia, Brandon, Jacob, Bryon, Blaine, Blair, Lexi and Luke. Loving Great-grandmother of Gavin, Shyanne, Aleigh, Bret, Braeleigh and Aaliyah. Beloved sister of Velma Gros and the late Forest Plaisance, Raymond Plaisance, Warren Plaisance, Winnie Mae Bouffanie and Elsie Dufrene. Albert "Snookey" John Treadaway passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Friday, August 26, 2016. He was 93 years old. He was born in Algiers, LA and was a lifelong resident of Algiers. He was the beloved husband of Audrey Rousselle Treadaway for 67 years. He was the father of two daughters, Linda T. Coniglio (the late Geatano) and Kathy T. Doss Traynor (Timothy). He had 2 grandsons, Phillip E. Doss, Jr., and Christopher E. Doss (Danielle). Brother-in-law of Larry Rousselle. Albert was employed by Carpenters Local Union 1846 and was a member of Indivisible Friends Lodge #404. Victor “Vic” Arnona, Jr. passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the age of 69.  He was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse. He graduated from Berhman High School in Algiers. Loving husband of Lovinia “Lee” Arnona for 32 years. Devoted father of Victor Arnona, III and his wife Terry, Charles Boudreaux and his wife Melanie, Lynn Dean and her husband Jeff, and Kayla Dean and her husband Justin. Grandfather of Vincent, Charles, Seth, Victoria, Noah, Gabriel, Angelica and Kylee. Great-grandfather of Rayne. Brother-in-law of Eddie Boudreaux and his late wife Chetta, Wayne, Donald, Shirley, Charlene, Marlene, Karen, Beverly and the late Josephine. Phyllis N. Kimball, our beloved mother, earned her wings on Thursday, September 1, 2016, in Belle Chasse, LA, at the age of 68. Companion of David M. Kimball; Mother of Cindy J. Kerry (William III), and Terry D. Yarbrough (Sheila); daughter of the late Lavonne Kennedy and R.M. Kennedy; sister of Joe Kennedy, Richard Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, and the late Kenneth Kennedy, Sue Dickerson, and Jeanette Weimer. Also survived by six grandchildren, Jessica Yarbrough, Jennifer Cramer, Stephanie Yarbrough, T.J. Yarbrough, Alyssa Kerry, Jenna Kerry; and four great-grandchildren. She was a native of Seminary, MS, a longtime resident of Kenner, LA, and a resident of Belle Chasse since 2001. Phyllis was a graduate of Jefferson Parish Votech and was employed with the Louisiana Department of Labor for several years. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served proudly in the United States Air Force. He was also an owner of Koch Brothers Produce Company for over 50 years and a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Marie “Mary” Jeanne Duplessis Patcheco passed away peacefully on the morning of September 5, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born on September 14, 1924 in Buras, Louisiana. She was the beloved wife of the late Adam Henry Patcheco Sr. She was also a resident of St. Bernard Parish. Mary loved spending time with her family and looked forward to her Friday night card games with her three children. She touched many lives and left many memories to all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Duplessis and Alphonsine Dinet Duplessis, three sisters and seven brothers. Mary is survived by three sisters, two daughters Tina Patcheco and Wanda Waguespack (Mike), one son Adam (Yockey) Patcheco Jr. (Patricia), seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family. MSgt. Nace Patrick Prejean, U.S.A.F. (Ret.) departed this life on September 3, 2016, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. Survivors include his devoted wife, Kim; parents, Sarah and Carol Prejean; sisters, Belgium Coignet (husband, Dr. Kenneth) and Normi Donewar (husband, Barry); granddaughter, Catherine; nephews, Adam Coignet, A1C Barry Donewar Jr., U.S.A.F. (wife, Kristi), Nick Donewar and Cameron Donewar. Nace graduated from West Jefferson High School, Class of 1977. He joined the United States Air Force, served at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA and Kunsan Air Force Base in South Korea. Following four years of active duty, Nace joined the Louisiana Air National Guard, 159th Fighter Wing, better known as “Bayou Militia” located in Belle Chasse, LA and proudly served until his retirement in 2003. His final deployment was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom following the events of September 11, 2001. Nace was passionate in his love of his family and friends, planes and cars. Affectionately nicknamed “Speedman” by his friend Quint Davis, Nace was well known as a master race engine builder and also for the cars he owned. Nace never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generous and kind-hearted naturewas certainly something that you would never forget. He will be sadly missed but his life will be celebrated. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations in his memory to The Michael J. Oscar Edgardo Rico, Sr passed away peacefully the morning of September 8, 2016, at the age of 68. He was born in La Ceiba Honduras July 17, 1948 and came to the US at the age of 12 and eventually became a US Citizen. He grew up and remained in New Orleans and called it home. He lived his last days at Riverbend assisted living center in Belle Chasse and was very happy and well cared for by their staff. He always boasted his biggest accomplishment in life were his children of whom he was beyond proud. He also worked for the NOPD for some years and those stories of his experiences were his favorite to share with others. He was also a part of the United Cab Company for 20+ years. Most will regard him as a happy go lucky, never a worry, always a joke at hand person. His heart was the kindest that most ever knew. His first thoughts were always “how can I help, let me see what I can do for you”. He had a huge wonderful personality that will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Xiomara, Patsy and Cynthia Rico, his ex-wife and still friend Georgia Rico, his children Lysa Rico Lassere (Mark), Oscar E. Rico Jr. (Tonya) and Brian Rico (Dianna), grandchildren Carolione, Drew and Eleanore Lassere, Reese, Cannon, Ashton, Kayla and Natalie Rico, and his dear friend who we regard as family, Caroline Lampard and her family. Friends and family gathered in his honor to share good times and memories at an open house visit at Oscar Jr’s residence located at 12613 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse La. on Sunday September 11, 2016 at 11 am. On Friday, September 9, 2016 we lost Theresa Leiker Mahony at the age of 59. She was born February 8, 1957. Theresa was the beloved wife of Kevin Mahony, the best mom in the world to Hazel Mahony, best friend and confidant to sister Nickomus Leiker and brother-in-law Wesley Schmidt, and cherished matriarch to Corey Leiker, Toby and Michelle Leiker and their son Gabriel, and all her friends and family members. After growing up in Buras, LA with her family, she made New Orleans her home and graduated with a B.A. in English from UNO. Theresa worked in the hospitality industry at Que Sera in her early years and went on to become a general manager of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for many years. Later, she worked as a trainer at Compeat Restaurant Software followed by Doyle Land Service and Upperline Energy Partners. Theresa had an exuberance for life. She was a costumer at Mardi Gras, an animal lover, a devoted gardener, an avid reader and was always ready to entertain friends at the drop of a hat. Theresa had a passion for cooking and loved to share her meals with her fortunate friends and family. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Martha and Richard Leiker Sr., her brothers, Richard Leiker Jr., Raymond Leiker, half-brother Steve Martin and half-sister Nancy Martin. She is survived by her half-sister, Debbie Harris, her beloved fur-baby Bowser, and many other extended family members that she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Eddie “Bo” King, Jr. was born on August 7, 1947 to the late Eddie King, Sr. and Ernestine Bennett King. He passed away at the age of 69 on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:35 a.m., leaving to cherish his memory, two stepsons, Tony and Terry Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Brown King. His siblings include, Barbara Williams, Eugene King, Sr. (Susan), Martha Anderson (Juarry) and the late Lionel King. Step siblings include Paula Hampton (Joseph), Demetrius Boutin (Debra) and the late Sheila Harris (Willie). Son in law of the late Joseph and Juanita Brown. Brother in law of Joseph, Ivory, Solomon, Kathleen, Claudia and Lisa Brown. Also survived by a beloved uncle, Isreal King, Sr.; four Godchildren, Charles King, Dedra Bailey, Alvin Duplessis and Dalvin Major. Harry Leonard Klock passed away peacefully on September 16, 2016 at the age of 94 years, He is a native of Painted Post and Corning, NY, and resided in Belle Chasse, LA, for the past 56 years. Beloved husband of the late Leona Ballay Klock. Father of Kevin J. Klock and Ann K. Phillips (Richard). Grandfather of Shawn M. Phillips (Alison). Great-grandfather of Colton Michael Phillips. Brother of Doris O’Bourn, the late Howard O. Klock and Ruth K. Houghletting. Son of the late Claude D. Klock and Daisy Grover Klock. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. He was retired from Jefferson Door Company with 30 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a qualified parachutist with the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment and was in the battles of Guadalcanal, Vella Lavella and Bougainville. He also served with the 4th Marine Division in the battle of Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Association of Survivors of the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment, the 4th Marine Division Association and the Iwo Jima Veterans. he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a life member and Past Grand Knight of Fr. Peter Boerding Knights of Columbus Council No. 6357 in Belle Chasse, a member of Bayhi-Ravey American Legion Post No. 329 and was a dedicated volunteer at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. He touched the lives of so many and will be sadly missed. Cathy was a registered nurse who worked for the majority of her career at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was passionate about meeting the needs of her patients and their families. Her interests included gardening and volunteering for the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society. Cathy graduated from West Jefferson High School and Delgado Community College Nursing Program. Relatives and friends of the family attended the Memorial Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. To view and sign the online guestbook visit www.mothefunerals.com. Beloved father of Julie Fitzgerald Adams (Troy), Kirk Fitzgerald (Gena), Melissa Fitzgerald Gulliot (Kevin), Natalie Fitzgerald Douglas (John). Son of the late Aimee and Gus Fitzgerald Jr. Brother of the late Audrey Fitzgerald Smith and Gary Fitzgerald. Former husband of Judy Hadley Barrios, mother of his children. Grandfather of Walter J. Heathcock, Jake Herbert, Erica Landry, Cole Hebert, Kurt Fitzgerald, Adam J. Adams, and Kalee Cooper. Great-grandfather of Irelyn Heathcock, Cohen Landry, Laiken Landry, and Raegan Hebert. Godfather of Patrick Fitzgerald. Uncle of Suzette Adams, Sandy Rush and the late Michael Smith. He was a native of Plaquemine, LA, and a lifelong resident of Boothville, LA. Daughter of the late Harry and Alice Turner; Wife of the late Joseph Herbert Gibson Sr.; Mother of Joseph Jr. (Tonia), Gregory Sr. (Tanya) and Quiana (Jarel); Sister of Ralph and Wendell (Sharone) Turner, Grace T. Parker (Clement Sr.), Norma T. La- France (Melvin Sr.), Elder Phyllis T. Williams (Kenneth Sr.) Brenda T. Hymes (Samuel), the late Connie Turner (Craig), Diane T. Parker and Rev. Harry Turner (Alice). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren Joseph III, Anjanae, Quiandra, Gregory Gibson Jr., Hector Zapata III, Jaylon Martin and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
