Henry Letellier passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 8:15 a.m. in New Orleans, LA, at the age of 68. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Dinah Letellier; loving stepfather of Dana and Terry Whitmore; father of Elizabeth Stitch; and grandfather of Jacob, Brenden, D’layna, Tyler and Kayden. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Letellier Piergalskiand (Richard); sisters-in-law, Yvonne Brown and Diane Greer; and will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Letellier, Sr. and Dorthy Letellier; brother, Harry Letellier, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Joanne Watson. Henry was an employee of BBC, Belle Chasse Marina and Port Ship. He was a loving father, stepfather, grandfather and brother who treasured his family. Josie Areminter Williamson Parker
Josie Areminter Williamson Parker passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the age of 97. She was born on August 2, 1921 to proud parents, Rev. Norwood Hudson Williamson and Mrs. Celestine Raphael Williamson in Nestor, LA (Plaquemines Parish). She was the last living child of seven. Siblings: Joseph (her twin), Pearl, Douglas, Paul, Clarence and Herbert. Josie was educated in the segregated Plaquemines Parish Public School System during a time at which Negros were only allowed to obtain an education up to the eighth grade. While in her 60’s, Josie pursued and achieved her GED and a certificate in auto mechanics. She was a seamstress by trade. She married Edward Sylvester Parker on January 28, 1946. Three children were born to their union: Frances (Edward), Charlotte, and Joseph (Carolyn). After nine years of marriage, her husband died in December of 1955. Josie gave birth to another daughter, Carolyn, in 1960. Josie leaves to mourn her death and celebrate a life lived by God’s grace: her children, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who complete the Williamson, Raphael and Parker families. Hewitt Chaney Prout, Sr., departed this life peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Metairie HealthCare Center in Metairie, LA, at the age of 86. Clayton Grayson Furbush passed away unexpectedly at his home in Belle Chasse on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the age of 15. Clayton was born August 3, 2003 in Marrero, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse. He was the son of the late Carmen J. Taruc-Furbush and the late Michael E. Furbush Jr. Clayton is survived by his brothers Jullian L. Furbush, James C. Furbush and Michael E. Furbush III. He was the adored grandson of Donna and Claron Taruc of Belle Chasse, Michael Furbush Sr. and his wife Barbara of Jesuit Bend, and the late Kay Hughes of Lafayette. Clayton is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins across the globe, and his cat Misty. Clayton will be remembered for his kindness towards others, his love for animals, his adventurous cooking, a silly sense of humor, and always a friendly wave and smile when riding through the neighborhood, often stopping to talk your ear off. He enjoyed being a daredevil with extreme sports. Clayton loved to swim, take his boat out, ride his scooters, go kart, bike and four-wheelers; if there was a mud hole, he would find it. His passion was spending time outdoors, especially fishing. Many a day was spent from sunrise to sunset fishing out on the bayous. Clayton loved being around family and friends. He will continue to stay with us all, through memories, forever in our hearts and will always be missed. A gathering and celebration of life service in remembering Clayton was held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Exceleration Church in Belle Chasse, LA. His ashes will be scattered at a later date by family and close friends. Nicholas “Nick” Anthony Protti passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Dola Diaz Protti. Nicholas was a proud and devoted father to his four children: David Protti (Loretta), Gail Kramer (Richard), Faye Murphy (Brian), and Linda Fontana (Joseph). He was Pawpaw to his grandchildren, whom he adored: Kelly Schott, Lori Barthel, Tracy Fischer, Rebecca Protti, Kurt Kramer, Jill Wall, Kevin Murphy, Jennifer Kiefer, Nicholas Fontana, Adam Fontana, and Dominick Fontana. He also has 15 great-grandchildren who loved their Pawpaw. Nicholas was born on May 17, 1927 in Concession, Louisiana. He grew up in Belle Chasse where he was lovingly nicknamed “Mandy” and later raised his family in Metairie. He was the son of the late Vincent and Sarah (Potier) Protti. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Nancy Foerster and Rose Mary Territa, and is survived by his brother, Vincent “Bill” Protti (Ramona). Nicholas is also survived by many nieces and nephews. For 35 years, Nick owned his own business and worked as a radio and television technician, servicing the New Orleans area. He was always an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing trips with friends and family. Nick also enjoyed camping and traveling with Dola and family, and took many trips across the U.S and Canada. He loved tinkering with anything, especially electronics, and was quite the handyman. Nick enjoyed the challenge “anything broken” presented, and there wasn’t much he couldn’t repair. He was also lovingly known as “Mr. Nick” to his many friends, especially at First English Lutheran Church, where he was a very active member, and at local restaurants where he enjoyed breakfast almost daily. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his family and his kind and gentle spirit. Nicholas will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him and to have been a part of his life. The family remains very grateful to the many professionals for their assistance, genuine care and support during Nick’s last days. Robert Raymond “Robbie” Dahl passed away surrounded by family on July 5, 2019 at Ochsner Medical Center. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Buras, LA, for the past 45 years, Robbie was a retired crew boat captain. He got his first commission on the Captain Gene. Quarantine Bay was like a second home to him. Robbie loved fast cars and nice trucks. He cherished his time with his family and close friends. His infectious laugh will never be forgotten. He is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Cure Dahl. Robbie is survived by his father, Romaine Dahl; his three brothers Donald (Catherine) Dahl, Chris (Evelyn) Dahl, and Justin Dahl. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Rhodes and stepson, Craig Wilson. Robbie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Patricia Hingle McCarty entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the age of 92. She was born in New Orleans, LA on March 2, 1927. Wife of Charles L. McCarty for 73 years. He and Patricia were married in 1945 after World War II at the Algiers Naval Airbase. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Hingle and Ruby Banta Hingle, her brother, Alden E. Hingle, Sr. and (Clare). Patricia will be dearly missed by her surviving family, her two daughters, Sheila Blackwell (Willis) and Patricia L. McCarty; her sister, Ruby Lee Hingle (the late Clement Hingle); her grandchildren, Tammy Kinnair (Bruce) and Chris Blackwell (Ria); her five great-granddaughters, Brenna, Hannah and Hailey Kennair and Sophia and Kayla Blackwell. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Patricia was an excellent seamstress and knitter. She loved to crochet and needlepoint, which were just a few of her hobbies. She won first place ribbons for her needle points and afghans. She also enjoyed making ceramics. She loved baking and cooking from scratch and enjoyed sharing all her delicacies with everyone. She had an award winning bread pudding recipe in which Wolfgang Puck offered to purchase and market. She had a love for growing plants, such as African Violets, Orchids and Bromeliads. She was a giving person: she was all about love for others and was loved by all; she will be dearly missed. Patricia had a strong affection and love of all animals. Norman Joseph Naquin, Sr.
Norman Joseph Naquin, Sr., entered peacefully into heaven on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the age of 88. He was a longtime resident of Terrytown, LA and a current resident of Thibodaux, LA. Preceded in death by his loving wife Faye Rousseau Naquin of 54 years. Survived by his two sons Norman Naquin, Jr. (Cora), Dean Naquin (Shirley), and daughter Emily Naquin. A proud grandfather of Nicole “”Nikki”” Naquin, Seth Naquin and Blaine Naquin and step granddaughter Nicole Lopez Little and step-greatgranddaughter Corey Ann Little. Son of the late George Paul Naquin and Lilia Leroux Naquin. Preceded in death by his brother, George O. Naquin and wife June and his sister, Leontine Naquin Parks and husband Nick Parks. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a longtime employee of Chevron Chemical Company in Belle Chasse, LA. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Linda Mae Matherne Pertuit
Linda Mae Matherne Pertuit, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 after a year-long battle with progressive vascular disease, at the age of 73. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. Linda is survived by her two sons, Michael S. Sepcich (wife Suzanne Thorn Sepcich) and Rhyne P. Sepcich (wife Jana Chiasson Sepcich). Proud Grandmother who was known as “Tootsie” to Katherine E. Sepcich, M. Stephen Sepcich, Jr., Rhyne P. Sepcich, Jr., and Julia A. Sepcich. Beloved daughter of the late Eddie and Yvonne Matherne, and maternal granddaughter of the late Lowell J. Hebert and Augusta W. Hebert, who raised her. Devoted sister to Patsy M. Allemore (brother-in-law Lynwood Allemore) and Barbara M. Allemore (brother-in-law Curtis Allemore). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends, including her companion Mr. Phillip Legendre. Linda was a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. She was a proud proprietor and retired beautician of 35+ years who truly enjoyed her craft and her relationships with her longstanding clientele. Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to dance. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Leo Luke Provenzano passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 16, 2019 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of Barbara Landry Provenzano for over 72 years. Loving father of the late Jeanie Marie Provenzano. Grandfather of Angelique Patrice Provenzano-Walgamotte (Barry), Cheri Teague Falcon, Joshua Benjamin Provenzano (Donna), and Rachel Lauren Bradfield (Brian). Great-grandfather of Ethan Jon Falcon, Ian Luke Bradfield, Wyatt Teague Estes, Aidan BarryWalgamotte, Levi Brian Bradfield, Lucas Eli Bradfield, Gionni Luke Provenzano, and Grace Marie Bradfield. Brother of Antoinette Provenzano Pertuit (the late Melvin) and the late Annie Provenzano McCurley. Son of the late Sam Provenzano and Josephine Vitale Provenzano. Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Luke was a native of Donaldsonville, LA. He began his studies at LSU, joined the Army to serve in WWII, and returned to graduate in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He worked for the LSU Agricultural Extension for his entire career, retiring as St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parish County Agent in 1979. He was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and has lived in Covington since Hurricane Katrina. After retirement, Luke enjoyed traveling with his wife and grandchildren. They frequented the Mississippi Gulf Coast on the weekends. He was known by many and loved by all, and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family attended the Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
