Ricky A. Guillot, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the age of 60. Devoted husband of Lori Hammons Guillot. A loving father of Ricky “RJ” A. Guillot, Jr, Tess Guillot, Anjelle Bianchini, Amanda Helveston, Kathleen Herring, and Elizabeth Dixon (Jeff). Son of the late Beverly Williams Pellegrin and Jesse Guillot, Sr. Brother of Myra Shaffer, Jesse Guillot, Jr. (Gladys), Joanie Guillot Vicknair (Gary), Phyllis DiFeboo Kass (Eddie), James Pellegrin (Charlene) and Karl Pellegrin (Kris). He is also survived by grand kids, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A native of Pointe-a-la-Hache, LA and a resident of Saraland, AL. He graduated from Promise Land Academy. Ricky worked for many years as a Tug Boat Captain for GNAT. After work he enjoyed watching his Saints games, fishing for crawfish, fishing, working in his vegetable garden, watching western movies but mostly spending time with his kids, family and friends. Willie Rankins, Sr. departed this life peacefully on Sunday April 21, 2019 at Riverbend Nursing Home in Jesuit Bend, LA at the age of 78. He was a native of Amite, LA, and a longtime resident of Buras, LA. Son of the late Guy and Emma Jenkins Rankins. Beloved father of Shelita (Ferlin) Reddicks, Irma Mitchell, Willie (Debra) Rankins Jr. and Robert (Dolly) Mitchell. He also raised Kendra Mitchell Ragas as his own daughter. Grandfather of Jaden and Ferlin Reddick Jr., Deshawn Powell, Kayla, Emma and Cassie Rankins, Robert Mitchell Jr., Ashley Lynn Farmer, Eligah, Trent, Kendra and Monique Mitchell Brother of Alice (Ralph) Taylor, Guy (Jenelle) Rankins, Leontene Dillworth and the late Robert and Alton Rankins. He is also survived by a great grandson, several nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, devoted friends and caregivers. Brother of Annie Lucille (Edward) Duncan, Prosper S. (Beverly) Williams, Betty Ann (Gregory Sr.) Dinette and the late Carmelita Andry, Myrtle Devall and Eva Powell. Godfather of Annie Lucille Duncan. Virginia Ruth Langham Freeman peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the age of 77. Daughter of the late Johnston Langham, Sr. and Annie Brooks Langham. Loving and devoted mother of Debra Elaine Aucoin (Kermit), Duane Freeman, Cindy Freeman Wilson, Malcolm Freeman (Melissa) and the late Michael Freeman. Beloved Grandmother of Christy Douglas Vige, Carlos Douglas Jr., Brandon Freeman (Belinda), Bradley Freeman (Rayne) and Mark Freeman (Candice). Virginia is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, sewing and watching the New Orleans Saints play. Clare Clerc Hingle, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, in Gulfport, MS at the age of 86. Mrs. Hingle was preceded in death by her parents, Rene’ Clerc Jr. and Catherine Evasovich Clerc (Alden) E. Hingle; brother, Brother Rene’ F Clerc III; and a sister, Grace C. Cognevich; and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Alyssa Minter. She is survived by three sons, Alden E. Hingle Jr., Richard L. Hingle, John L. Hingle; two daughters, Bonnie H. Creamer, Amy H. Teresa “Tisa” Margaret Magruder passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Waveland, MS, at the age of 67. She was of the Catholic Faith. Tisa graduated from Buras High School in 1969, from USL in 1973, and received her Masters from UNO. She was a Louisiana elementary school teacher for 40 years. Tisa taught Special Ed in Plaquemines Parish, ESL to Vietnamese children in Jefferson Parish, and T-1 to her Cyprus Cove Elementary students in Slidell. She was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt who will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Magruder. She is survived by her mother, Anne C. Magruder of Bay St. Louis, MS; three brothers, Lawrence H. Magruder, Jr. (Mary Lou) of Violet, LA, David Ray Magruder (Debbie) of Independence, LA and Daniel Deveil Magruder of Destin, FL; sister, Susan Magruder (John Noonan) of Diamondhead, MS; numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Don Carl Albert passed away on May 5, 2019 at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Lynn Nguyen Albert. Father of Samuel Albert. Son of Betty Cram Albert and the late “Beannie” Frank Bryant Albert. Brother of Roy Albert and Glenda Juka (Ronnie). Born in Port Arthur, TX and a current resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Donnie had a gruff exterior and a huge generous heart. He was an engaging conversationalist who loved to tell corny jokes. He enjoyed cooking too much food for his small family and also playing football… as the Monday morning quarterback. Donnie worked in Refining as an Operator/ Supervisor for most of his adult career. He was passionate about safety and doing right. He made many friendships and was a respected coworker, friend, brother, son, father, and husband. In January of 2018, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The disease took away his ability to speak early on and then gradually attacked his respiratory system. Though his last months of life were difficult, he was kept comfortable thanks to Guardian Angels Hospice (Angie, Dee, & Dr. Kantrow) and Anjanette. The family also extends their thanks to the Ochsner ALS Clinic (Je’na & Dr. Larriviere). Leo Ralph Dartez, Jr., of The Woodlands, TX, passed away May 13, 2019 at the age of 66. Beloved son of Leo Ralph Dartez, Sr., and Jacqueline Larroque Dartez. Ralph is survived by his wife Ann Smith Dartez of 44 years, his children Leo Ralph III (Doreen) Oviedo, FL, Jeremy Wade (Jennifer) Allen, TX, and Jennifer Rose, Dallas, TX, his four grandchildren and three sisters, Denise Faust (Barry), Michele Rooney (James), Ann Schober (Andrew), and seven nephews and a niece. Ralph was born August 18, 1952 in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Port Sulphur High School. He attended Louisiana State University earning a Civil Engineering degree (Chi Epsilon) in 1973. Ralph’s engineering career spanned over 30 years and, in 2005, he retired from Marathon Oil Company as Gulf Coast Region Manager in Houston, TX. Ralph talked fondly of his times at Marathon and remained close with many colleagues. Ralph will be fondly remembered for his hobbies. He was an avid golfer. Ralph started playing golf in 1962 and referred to himself as a student of the game. He boasted about parring the Road Hole and shooting an 81 at Scotland’s St. Andrews Old Course. In Ralph’s younger years, he developed a passion for sports, including tennis, football, baseball, track, basketball, rugby and soccer. He often told his family that he was not very good at any of these sports but he was proud of his nevergive-up spirit. Ralph also loved history and was well-read on the Civil War, World War II, and great leaders such as Churchill and Lincoln. In his later years, Ralph took up studying finance and enthusiastically spread that knowledge to friends and family. Above all, Ralph loved his family, especially his four grandchildren Madeline Marie Dartez, Annabelle Claire Dartez, Louis Robert Dartez, and Addison Elizabeth Dartez. Ralph was a source of inspiration to all who knew him and his generosity is evident even after his passing. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. A visitation followed by a funeral mass on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home Chapel, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX. Calvin Robert Hingle was called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2019 with his loving wife at his side at the age of 79.› He is preceded in death by his parents Earl Van Hingle and Fannie Pelas Stipelcovich, as well as brothers Donald Hingle and Gerald Hingle.› › He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Ann Hingle, three sons, Robert Hingle, Jody Hingle and his wife Marlaina Hingle, and Derick Hingle and his wife Bethany Hingle, two granddaughters, Alex Hingle and Nevaja Ingraham, and his three grandpups Tchoupitoulas, Delachaise and Napoleon Hingle.› › He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved and will be remembered by many other family and friends. Calvin was born in Plaquemines Parish, spending most of his life in Ostrica and Buras.›A graduate of Buras High School, he also owned and operated Earl’s Handy Pac in Buras.› In addition, Calvin was a veteran who served in the armed forces during the 1960’s. He loved fishing oysters, collecting coins, inventing, yard work and enjoyed life just being outdoors. He was an avid fan of the Saints and the Pelicans and loved watching his teams play.››In 2005, following Hurricane Katrina Calvin relocated to the Northshore where he spent the rest of his career operating his own lawn care company, A Touch of Grass. He recently moved back to the south shore to be closer to family while battling cancer.› › Calvin was a loving husband and a devoted father who had a strong work ethic but always made time for his family and helping others. The family would like to convey their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at Passages Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Calvin during his final days. She is survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-greatgrandchildren. Daughter of the late Anthony Navarro and Gertrude “Dear” Mioton Navarro. She was born on July 7, 1913 to the union of the late Thomas and Antoinette Henry Mackey. She was a longtime member and mother of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Boothville and was the oldest known living resident of Plaquemines Parish, LA. She is the widow of the late Deacon Saxion Taylor. Beloved and devoted mother of Estelle (late Robert Sr.) Coleman, Thelma Bernadine (late Wesley) Riley, Beatrice (Hewitt Sr.) Prout, Joann Smith, Benjamin (Caffie) Taylor Sr., Stanley Taylor Sr., Norma Smith, Bruce (Louise) Taylor, Roxann (Floyd Sr.) Jones, Celeste Green, and the late Carroll (late Elaine) Taylor Sr., Annette T. Smith and Wilfred Taylor Sr. Sister of Ethel Mackey Ward and the late Alexandrine Jones, Augustine Brooks, Irma Francois, Gustavia Evans, Alberta Dabon, John, Joseph, Freddie, Mack, Thomas and James Mackey. Ernestine Buras passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the age of 75. She was a native of Houma, LA, and a resident of Bush, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband Tracy Buras Sr. and survived by her beloved sons Tracy Jr. and Blaine, their wives Kelly and Tavia, her grandchildren Brianna and Blaine Jr., her brother Gary Rodriguez and sisters Patsy Morrarty and Marlene Gumpert. She lived a full life, loving gardening and helping at the local food bank. Per her request, no services will be held. Hebert, Sr. Daughter of the late Joseph Smith Dickson and Carrie Ardell Norris. Devoted mother of Deborah Burlette (Mervin, Jr.), Andrea Hebert Stumpf, and the late Alvin Hebert, Jr., and the late Randall Hebert (Cheri). Grandmother of Troy, Brigette, Brandy, Chad, Chantel, Katelyn, Kayla and Collin. Great-grandmother of Ryan, Sean, Madelyn, Ethan, Hudsyn, Leland, and Nora. Sister of the late Buddy Dickson, Sr., Thelma Dickson and Daniel Dickson, Sr. She was born in Birmingham, AL and was a longtime resident of Belle Chasse, LA. She left a legacy of love to her family and everyone around her, and was an inspiration to all. Mary “Mickey” Arlynne Patterson passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the age of 80. Daughter of the late Thelma Sterling Patterson and Irwin J. Patterson. Cousin of June Sterling, Connie S. Sterling, and the late Clare Lynne Gray Champagne, William L. Sterling, Waldon J. Sterling, Roderick Ripp, Roland Ripp, Ronald Ripp, Roy L. Ripp, Gaynelle R. Smith, Sterling R. Juneau, and Thomas Patterson, Jr. Also survived by her extended family and friends. Godmother of the late Mary Louise Champagne. She was a graduate of Behrman High School, Class of ‘56. She was an employee in the Billing Department of the Crescent River Port Pilots Association since November, 1980. Prior to this time, she was employed for several years at the Naval Air Base in Belle Chasse. She was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians and a former member of the Knights of Columbus #1724 Auxiliary. There was no greater joy, reward or love in Mickey’s life than her employment with the Crescent River Port Pilots. She literally lived to go to work and her job was her consummate passion. She loved the people she worked with, both pilots and staff, knowing the details and specifics of all ships traveling the 30 mile Mississippi River domain of the Crescent Pilots, and of course the River itself. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of Lloyd’s Registry of Ships. Her only competing interest in life was her love of all animals, especially horses. The days of the Kentuckey Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes were sacred events on her calendar. She loved horses and would often go to the stables to feed and groom them. She also had an avid love for cardinals. She was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA for the past 42 years. Relatives and friends of the family attended the visitation and funeral mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret St. Algiers, LA on Thursday, May 23, 2019. A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA at the age of 72. He was born January 24, 1947 in Moselle, MS. He was owner and operator of George Thompson Dozer Service in Belle Chase, LA over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and beloved by all! He is survived by wife of 53 years, Diane Thompson; two sons, Johnny Ray Thompson and wife Gina and Lawerence Mitchell Thompson, Sr.; grandchildren, Lawerence Logan Thompson and wife Ashley, Koren Thompson, Katie Thompson, Lydia “Marcy” Thompson and fiance Evan, Lawerence Mitchell Thompson, Jr., and Jonathan Thompson; great grandchildren, Levi Thompson, Titus Nunnery, Reese Lambert and Lucas Nunnery; one brother, Carl Thompson and wife, JoAnn; special friends Joe Casey and Claude. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Lydia Thompson; three sisters, Mary, Rose and Evie; three brothers, Travis Thompson, Willie Thompson and Johnny Thompson.
