Hilda Miller Williams

Hilda Miller Williams entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 82. She was born on September 21, 1935 to the late August, Sr. and Eliza Etienne Miller. She was the seventh of ten children. Hilda was a 1954 graduate of English Turn School. She later attended Dillard University and Xavier University. She retired from the Metropolitan Developmental Center, where she worked as a Resident Training Specialist. During her time there, she cared for and built lasting relationships with individuals dealing with intellectual disability. She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent Paul Williams. To this union, Stacey Tranelle & Elizbeth Ann Williams were born. She was the proud grandmother of Taelor Elizabeth & Paiton Leigh Young, Seth William Reddick and Noah Troy Fiffie. She was the stepmother of Rose Marie (Clarence) Griffin, Susan (Dave) Simon, Peggy (Vernon) Williams, Marlena (Eddie) Cowart and the late Helen (Gerald) Griffin, Kerry Williams and Carolyn (Lawrence) Encalade. She was the godmother of Ricky Turner, Marvin Miller, Gerald Riley, and Patricia Miller Pickens. She was a lifelong resident of Phoenix, La., and member of St. Joseph Baptist Church. She was baptized at St. Joseph Baptist church by her uncle, the late Rev. John Miller. She served in the choir since she was a very young child even before being baptized. She was the Adult Sunday School teacher at St. Joseph for many years. She had a true love and dedication for Christ and living as a Christian woman. She shared these values with everyone she came in contact with. She was a true warrior for Christ. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, her siblings, the late August Jr., Clovis, Willis, Freddie, Frank, Leonard, Jeannetta, Ellen Miller and Geraldine Riley. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, grandchildren, one sister in law, Authorine Miller, and devoted nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family attended a visitation and funeral service at St. Joseph Baptist Church on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Interment: St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery. Lorrie Anne Waddle died on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the age of 53. She was born September 18, 1962 in Port Sulphur, LA, to Iris Joyce and Charles Wayne Waddle Sr. She was a beloved mother of four beautiful children: Anthony Joseph, John Paul, Charles Ryan, and Stephanie Lynn Waddle. She is survived by her son Charles Waddle, sisters Joan Carol Wallace, Debbie Lynn Milstead, Gaynell Lavignette, and brother Jan Michael Waddle. Preceded in death by brother Charles Wayne Waddle Jr. and loving companion Willie Chrisco. In addition, she also had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Your life was made short, but you will forever be in our hearts.

Marlene Stumpf Richards passed away June 27, 2018 in Covington at the age of 80. She was born in New Orleans, LA on August 9, 1937 to Clifford and Alice Stumpf. In 1952, the Stumpf family moved to Venice, LA, where Stumpf’s IGA was born. The entire family at one time or another operated the well known area grocery until Hurricane Katrina devastated that area. At that time, Pontchatoula, LA, became her temporary home. Marlene is survived by her sons James (Shelta) Turnage and Kevin (Gina) Turnage of Lafayette; her daughter Denise (James) Massey of Waveland, MS. Also grandchildren Dennis, Kristen, Katherine, Eric, Meghan, Jordan, Gordon, and Matthew. Great-grandchildren, Anthony, Zaiden, Link, Gabriella, George, William and Nicholas. Step-grandchildren Lisa, Mamie, Carlos, David, Maria, Pamela, and James, Jackson, Hunter, Brice, Cole, Payton, Peyton, and Ian. Her brothers Clifford, Kenneth, Wayne and Rodney Stumpf and their spouses Bonnie, Lynn, and Becky and sister-in-law Mary Lynn. Stepdaughter Terri Richards and her family. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, George S. Richards; brother Dennis Stumpf, and sister-in-law Magie Stumpf. Robert J. Leinhardt, Jr. passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Hopel Leinhardt for 42 years. Loving father of Julie Bourgeois (Paul) and Stephanie Bellow (Clayton). Son of the late Robert J. Leinhardt, Sr. and Tilda Tullier Leinhardt. Brother of Celeste Sisung (Walter) and Grace Roper. Grandpal of Grant and Claire Bourgeois, Camille and Christian Bellow. Also survived by nieces, Robin and Candice and nephews, Richie and Walt. He was a native of Belle Chasse, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for 50 years. He loved his LSU Tigers, Green Bay Packers, Elvis, fi shing and most of all his family and friends. He never met a stranger. An entrepreneur, he had his own Insurance Company, Leinhardt Insurance Agency for 25 years. He was currently employed by Boudreaux Insurance Company. He will be forever remembered and loved by family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Steve T. Fitzgerald. She is the devoted and loving mother of Bret Fitzgerald, Alli Fitzgerald and Carson Fitzgerald. Brandy is the daughter of Joseph A. Clark, Jr. and the late Joyce Ellis Clark. She is the granddaughter of the late Isabelle “Ganny” Ellis. She is the sister of Michelle Clark Frickey, Mandy Fitzgerald (John), Joseph Clark (Kristen) and the late Christie Barrois. Brandy is the daughter in law of Larry and Wendy Fitzgerald and the sister in law of John Fitzgerald (Mandy) and Brian Fitzgerald (Angela). She is survived by 3 nieces, 8 nephews, 1 great nephew and many friends and family. Brandy never met a stranger and she loved to start up conversations. Her biggest passion in life was spending time with her children and her family and planning family gatherings. She was a stay-at-home mother who enjoyed decorating and making crafts in her spare time. On July 1, 2018, Abbie Ann Cathcart Adam departed Earth to attain eternal rest, surrounded by family at her home in Madisonville, LA at the age of 87. She was born on April 13, 1931 in New Orleans, LA to the late Bernard Cathcart and Eva Mae Armstrong Cathcart. Abbie Ann was the wife of the late Raymond William Adam and was preceded in death by her siblings Roy Leslie Cathcart, Bernard Michel Cathcart, and Eva Mae Cathcart Stephenson. She is survived by her three children, William Adam, Abbie Adam Maldini, and Randy Adam (Vicky) and was the proud grandmother of Cori Cox Nelson, Rebekah Ann Cox, Christopher Adam, and Ashley Adam Guidry, and great-grandmother of Presli Cathcart Nelson, Benjamin Cox, Mimi Ann Guidry, Allie Grace Guidry, Jayce Chatellier, and Ellie Adam. Mrs. Adam was an active member of her community and served as president of the Madisonville Garden Club for eight years, The Women’s Propeller Club Port of Orleans for 3 years, Northlake Republican Women’s Club for 3 years, the Petroleum Women’s Club for three years, and was a member of the Homemakers Club and the Fleet Reserve Association. For over 25 years, she served as a board member for the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans. She was also instrumental in forming the Krewe of Tchefuncte Ball in Madisonville. In her spare time, she enjoyed genealogy and published a book, “”Crossing the Bar””, which depicted life in Pilot Town, LA and Plaquemines Parish. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Notre Dame Hospice and Mrs. Adam’s sitters, Charlotte Bigner Edwards and Ada Batiste. There he completed technical school, and he was proud to have tested guidance and control systems for the space shuttle program as part of his training. His career included employment as a computer programmer with companies such as Belle Chasse State School, Charity Hospital of New Orleans, and then retired from the United States Department of Agriculture at National Finance Center. He will always be remembered for his longtime love of Cajun dancing and music, and he will be deeply missed by all. She had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need. She will be forever remembered as the life of the party and her mean gumbo. She will be deeply missed by her family and all of those whose lives she touched. Devoted husband of 51 years to Narnice Harvey Riley. Beloved father of Avery (Dwanna) Riley Sr., Aretha (Michael) Etienne and Celeste (Larry) Lafrance Jr. Stepson of Ella Riley. Son of the late Priscilla Marshall Haynes and Alvin Haynes, Sr. Father of Donovan Keith Haynes (Chanda) and Brandon Demetrius Haynes (Jennifer). Brother of Terrell William Haynes, Pamela Haynes Wheeler and the late Alvin Haynes, Jr. Brother-in-law of Valralyn Haynes. Also survived by grandchildren, Tyler Charles, Taylor Clark Haynes and McKenna Madison Haynes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Ronald graduated from L. B. Landry Sr. High School in 1964, then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Southern University (Baton Rouge) in 1971. He was a retired Teacher in Orleans Parish School Board and retired from the Metropolitan Development Center, Belle Chasse State School. He was a member of St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, member of Usher Board #1, member Sunday School and of the United Teachers of New Orleans (UTNO). Daughter of the late Eulice Jr. and Bertha Bailey. Devoted mother of Lois (Byron) St. Cyr and Pamela (Joseph) Jones. Grandmother of Byron Jr., Bryant and Kimberly St. Cyr; step-grandmother of Tayla and Tia Jones. Great grandmother of Jayla St. Cyr-Th ompson and Paige Swain. Aunt of Tyrone (Deserae) Bailey and Tracey (Daphine) Bailey. Sister of Margaret Pierre, the late James, Eulice Jr. and Kenneth Bailey and sister-in-law Marva Ann Bailey. Audrey Buford Ballay passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in her Woodlands, Texas home, on the morning of July 10, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Gretna, Louisiana on January 24, 1923, Audrey was the older of two children born to Olive and Ulysses Buford. She met August Ballay while working at the Ammunition Depot in Belle Chasse, LA. They were married on January 18, 1945 in Boca Raton, FL, where August was stationed at the end of the second World War. They lovingly raised five sons in Port Sulphur, LA, before moving to New Orleans in 1975. After the death of her husband in 1976, Audrey endured and flourished independently until the end of her life. For the past 21 years, she has lived in The Woodlands, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She loved to cook, garden and was an avid bridge player. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband and their son, Randall. Audrey is survived by her sons Gordon (Betty), Ken (Lisa), John (Lyn) and Thomas (Beth). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Barrett (Stacy), Andrew (Whitney) and Mat (Keeley); Kathryn; Patrick (Caryn) and Allison Donnelly (Tucker); John August (Lynze), Christopher (Kelly), Tyler and Claire; she is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse, LA on Saturday, August 18 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Audrey will be laid to rest alongside her husband in McDonoghville Cemetery. Joyce Gaudet Bucher, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Alex Bucher Sr.; her parents, Cecile and Sidney Gaudet; her siblings, Sidney Gaudet Jr. and Milton Gaudet. She is the loving mother of Cathy Telford (John), Sue Wolverton (Woody), Betty Dimiterchik (Mike), Pat Bucher (Karen), Alex Bucher Jr. (Dale), and Steve Bucher (Tammy). She is the devoted grandmother of John Telford Jr. (Cori), Lori Voisin (Brent), Becky Williams (Cory), Jeff rey Telford (Melanie), Jason Rutter, Jessica Ross (Mike), Jenny Dorsett (Aaron), Sandy Dimiterchik, Michael Dimiterchik Jr. (Lindsey), Patrick Bucher Jr., Amanda Betancourt (Carlos), Alex Bucher III, Brad Bucher (Emily), Chelsea Bucher, and Candice Bucher. She is the devoted great grandmother of Anna Catherine Voisin, Madeline Telford, Alyce Voisin, Claire Telford, Caroline Telford, Zoe Williams, Alexander Telford, Asher Williams, Parker Ross, Nathan Ross, Corinne Dorsett, Alyssa Dorsett, Sean Dorsett, Henry Dimiterchik, Jack Dimiterchik, Addison Betancourt, Andrew Betancourt, Evan Bucher, Adam Bucher, Austin Bucher, and Abigail Bucher. She is the loving sister of Cecile Herfarth, and Marie Anne Wheelahan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. An avid gardener, Maw Maw was an excellent cook who enjoyed painting and needlework. Forever passionate about her family, she was meticulous about keeping up with each of her relatives’ birthdays, always sending cards. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Faye Ann Dufour passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the age of 69. Beloved daughter of the late Fadra Mayeux Dufour and Walter J. Dufour. Survived by sisters Janet Dufour Keller (Irvin) of Covington, and Joan Dufour Moore (Bruce) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. She is also survived by a niece, Sarah Moore Bowell (Josh) of Portland, Oregon; an aunt, Leonie (Deanie) Dufour LeBlanc, of Belle Chasse; and numerous cousins and friends. Faye was an avid reader, loved history, enjoyed re-enacting the Civil War, and loved animals, particularly cats. She enjoyed her life at Metairie Manor and made many wonderful friends there.
