Wallace “Buster” Joseph Foret entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the age of 82. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Blank Foret of 60 years. Loving father of Lisa McWhorter (David), Dana Kollatt, Kim Walton (Hermon) and Dale Foret (fiancé Bonnie Pecot). A proud grandfather of Allyson, Brindley McWhorter, Robbie (Rebecca), Paige (fiancé Blake Renuard) Kollatt, Hermon IV and Blake Walton. Son of the late Andriella Guillot Foret and Ambrose Foret. Brother of Mildred DiPascal (the late Carl), Elsie Treadaway (Andrew), Hazel Guidry (the late Earl), Vivian Orgeron (L. J.), Catherine Este (Huey), Paulette Boulas and preceded in death by Melvin Foret (Gertie), Isbella Bourg (Lloyd), Audrey Victoriano (Xavier) and Lynn Paul Foret. He was also preceded in death by his furry companion, Kay Cee. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ernestine Foret, numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. “Buster” was a native of White Castle, LA and a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA. He served his country in the United States Army for two years, and upon discharge he worked for many years as a construction worker for Clover Construction Company. After retirement he enjoyed being with his horses, his pets and mostly spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Dr. Don M. Hemelt passed away at home on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Rosemary Hemelt. Father of Brent Hemelt (Cheri). Stepfather of Jason Clayton (Rachel). Brother of Sybil Rigsby (Tommy) and the late Roy Hemelt. Son of the late Henry Hemelt and Nydia Hemelt. Also survived by seven grandchildren. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Belle Chasse for 18 years. Dr. Don was the Director of Pathology at Ochsner West Bank, where he had a long standing career and enjoyed working with his colleagues who he thought of as family. Arthur Paul “King” Mayard, Sr. enteredpeacefully into heaven at his home in Belle Chasse, LA surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the young age of 94. He is preceded in death by his parents Marie Florence Chauvin Mayard and Maurice Mayard, six siblings, his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Ruby Jean Lopez Mayard, and by two of his sons: Arthur “Paul” Mayard, Jr. (Rose) and Clinton Mayard. He is survived by his children: Phyllis Mayard Wingo (the late Ron), Brian Mayard (Donna) and Michael Mayard (Kim). “Paw Paw” adored his 13 grandchildren: Tyra, Peyton (Jason), Ron (Jana), Kristen (Arthur), Rhett, Paula (Niko), Paige (Brian), Nikol, John Paul, David, Andrea (Brandon), Jessica (Blake) and Jason. “Paw Paw” was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Jayton, Jonah, Kylie, Liam, Ayden, Lanna, Sydney, Kaydence, Cameron, Jaci, Ava, Brynn and Brody. Arthur was born on January 17, 1924 in Abbeville, Louisiana. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne 504th PIR during World War II. On June 2, 1946, Arthur married Ruby. All who knew them knew they were truly made for each other. Th ey started their lives together in Port Sulphur, LA. They briefly moved to Abbeville. After moving back to Port Sulphur, Arthur resumed his job with Freeport Sulphur Company as a Welder. Arthur and Ruby moved to Belle Chasse in 1965. Th ey were lifelong members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In their retirement years, Arthur and Ruby enjoyed traveling all over the world with their friends in the AARP. They loved to garden and Arthur enjoyed his weekly card games with friends at Council on Aging Senior Citizen Center. Linda Leonard Ohler entered the kingdom of heaven at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the age of 70. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl Leonard and Marie Hebert Leonard, three siblings Robert Joseph Leonard, Earl “Whimpy” Leonard, Dorothy Marie Arendt (the late John Michael Arendt), her devoted husband Larry Charles Ohler Sr. and her daughter Dennise Marie Braud. She is survived by her siblings Rose Leonard Mayard (Arthur Paul Mayard Jr.), Daniel Leo Leonard Sr. (Joise Arendt Leonard), Keith “Knuckle” Arendt (Kathy Toups Arendt), her children Jade Braud Wade (Ernest John Wade) and Jason Earl Leonard Sr. (Perla Lizbeth Leonard), and step-daughter Kimberly Guillot. “Granny” was loved all six of her grandchildren, Kolibe Marie Wade, Kail John Wade, Eva Maire Leonard, Elianna Marie Leonard, Jade Marie Leonard, and Jason Earl Leonard Jr. “Gigi” was also blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren Samantha Rose Dartez and Zayden Wyatt Dartez. She is also remembered and beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Linda was born on December 16, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the early 1980’s, she went to work for Otis (Halliburton) and would become the first and for years the only female crane operator in the Gulf Coast region. She would leave the oil field in the late 1980’s and would meet and marry Larry C. Ohler Sr. They resided in Belle Chasse, LA where they owned and operated “The Seatrain Tavern.” She also worked for the Plaquemines Parish School Board in various capacities for many years. She most enjoyed her time as the famed “Cardinal” mascot for Belle Chasse High School during Friday night football games. She h ad a certain “Joie de vivre” that she would share with everyone she met. She was a true one of kind that always spoke her mind without apology. She cared deeply for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always held a special light in her heart for them. Services will be held at the Belle Chasse Auditorium on Friday, March 23, 2018 between the hours of 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m. As our mother was beloved by so many all are welcomed to come and share their stories.

Neville Bradshaw
Neville Bradshaw passed away on March 14, 2018 at the age of 81 at his home in Slidell, LA, after a brief battle with cancer. He was a former resident of Belle Chasse, LA, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Belle Chasse. He was born in Missisissippi and graduated from Cary High School in Cary, MS, in 1955. He moved to Louisiana in 1957 and began work in the oil and gas industry. He spent most of his retirement years hunting and fi shing. He is survived by his wife, Alberta; his three sons, Mchael of Belle Chasse, Ronald of Dallas, and Scott of Monroe; and their mother, Kathaleen Bradshaw of Belle Chasse. Step-sons: Garrett and James. Step-daughter: Lessie. Also survived by a sister, Annie Lou Delbridge of Byhalia, MS, and a brother, Carl (Butch) of Denham Springs. He had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. His memorial service was held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Covenant Baptist Church in Slidell. His burial will be private at a later date in McComb, MS, alongside his parents, George and Lorraine Bradshaw.
Linda Rosiere Distefano
Mrs. Linda Rosiere Distefano passed away at West Jeff erson Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 69. She was a native and a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. Linda was born in New Orleans on November 26, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Gustave Rosiere Sr. and Lydia Falgoust Rosiere and brother Michael John Rosiere. Linda was the eldest of five. In 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Distefano, Jr. Linda had been eagerly anticipating celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband on July 6, 2018, but God had bigger plans. She is survived by her loving children Joseph (Amanda) Distefano III and Nicole Distefano (Joel) Klause, grandchildren Ian and Lauren Distefano and Michael and Maria Klause, sister Elaine Rosiere Laviolette (Nathan), brothers Francis Rosiere Jr. (Cindy) and Joseph Rosiere (Estrella), a host of nieces and nephews, and five godchildren Jamie Rosiere Riviere, Melissa Rosiere Humphries, Robbie Falgoust, Patricia Kerutis and Judy Lotz. Linda spent 25 years of her life in the Catholic educational system. She treasured the memories of her time at Visitation of Our Lady School and the many close friendships she established there. She later accepted a position at Archbishop Blenk High School, which led to her becoming their Campus Minister. Linda had a special gift for relating to “her girls” at Blenk. Her time with her Blenk family was held very near and dear to her heart. Cornelius Morton-Dumas departed this life on Th ursday, March 15, 2018 at the young age of 34. Born on July 4, 1983, he was the son of Curtis and Diane Dumas. Educated in the Jeff erson Parish School System, Cornelius was a life-long resident of Marrero, LA. He was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend Jerry H. Henry. He was taught bible scriptures through the discipline of karate by Reverend Nathaniel Jimcoliy. Cornelius was a people person and a “free spirit” who enjoyed family. He worked in the family business (Dumas Lawn and Garden Service and Johnson’s Lawn and Garden Service) all of his life beginning at the age of 14. He remained employed in the family business until he departed. He loved fishing and boat riding with his grandfather and family. He enjoyed cook-outs, boiling and family gatherings. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents: Curtis and Diane Dumas. His precious children: Jah’Kye Blazio, Cornelius Jr and Shariel Ratliff. Natasha Renee’ Webber departed this life on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 35. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Gretna, LA. Beloved daughter of Carolyn Webber-Carter and the late Milton Carter Jr. Fiancée of Darryl Martin. Devoted mother of Tyler Dejon Webber and De’Zerio Jay’Den Webber. Loving sister of De’Nean (Wayne) LaRoche, Michelle (late Darrell Sr.) Dillon, Varice D. Webber and stepbrother, Turmaine Carter. Granddaughter of Joseph M. Jones and Dorothea B. Deacon Iris Elmo Henry transitioned from labor to reward on Th ursday, March 29, 2018 at his home in Port Sulphur, LA with his love ones at his bed side four days shy of age 85. He was a native of Point-a-la-Hache, LA and a longtime resident of Port Sulphur. Deacon Henry was a retired educator and school bus driver for the Plaquemines Parish School System with 54 years of dedicated service. Son of the late Caston Henry and Hazel P. Lafrance. Stepson of the late Th eodore Lafrance. Beloved husband by 1st marriage to the late Verlina Burrle Henry and by second marriage to Diedre Davis Henry. Father of Iris (Barry) Cummins, Sylvia (Harry) Dew, Gordon (Blessing) Henry andthe late Sharon, Christopher and Nathaniel Paul. Step-father of Rodney and Ryan Riley, Tyler and Trevor Davis.
