Alvin Anthony Reid, Sr., passed away in Houston, TX on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 37. Beloved son of Anita Reid and Alvin Franklin, Jr. Father of Alvin Reid, Jr. and Jamyree Reid. Brother of Guvaka and Anitria Reid. Grandson of the late Bernice and Alton Reid and Fannie Mae and Alvin Franklin, Sr. Loving companion of Railyn Price. Great-grandmother of Calli Nicole Udstad and Jackson Ante’ Udstad. Sister of Mary Ann Garma Smith, Andrew John (Mickey) Garma (wife Beryl Garma) and Anthony Vincent (Tony) Garma Jr. Aunt of Jerry Fertel and Randy Fertel, Jonnye Vance and Donnye Vance, Tony Garma and Danny Garma. Great Aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. Helen was longtime resident of Plaquemines Parish (Buras and Port Sulphur), co-owner of Sig’s Restaurant in Port Sulphur and a proud member of the Croatian American Society. Jesse William Jones passed away peacefully on February 27, 2017 at the age of 82. Beloved husband for 30 years to his devoted wife, Elba Pagan-Jones. Devoted father of Jesse W. Jones Jr., Gina Jones (Nathan Sims,) and Patricia Jones (David Houpy.) Loving grandfather of David Houpy, Jr. Kristin Hartt and Adrian Jones. Great-grandfather of Lily and Cohn. Close uncle to his nephew, DJ Merritt, son of his sister Bonnie. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Victor, James, and Woodrow as well as his sister Bonnie. He is survived by many other family members and life-long friends. As a young man, Jesse started a career in the oil industry rolling pipe on drilling rigs but soon started his own Jo-boat business. Soon after, he partnered with his close friend, the late great Leroy Harvey, to form Arrow Contractors when the Louisiana oil industry was in its prime and later branched out on his own forming Arrow Well Control. After retiring from the oil industry, Jesse opened a hardware store with his wife, Elba, in Honduras, but they returned to the US just a few years later to be closer to family in Louisiana. Jesse enjoyed life to the fullest before he became ill. He had many, many friends, and he was a friend to everyone he met throughout his lifetime. A service will be held on March 11, 2017 at Greenwood Funeral Home in New Orleans.

Uncle of Paul Johnson (Robyn), Jennifer Johnson Adcock (Eric), and Casey Johnson Dore’ (Scott). Godfather of Dana Mendoza and Paul Johnson. He was a native of Point a la Hache, LA and resident of Belle Chasse, LA. He was a graduate of Belle Chasse High School and former employee of Amex Nickel Plant, Jazz Land, Six Flags, and most recently retired as a carpenter for Plaquemines Parish Government. Bradley was a loving and dedicated husband and father, as well as an avid plant and animal lover with a passion for woodworking and vegetable gardening. Grandfather of Jeffery, Justin, Derrick and Aaron Schurr, Rachel Hannan, Frank T. Hannan IV (Alana), Billy (Alaina) and Haley Guillot. Great-grandfather of Jeff, Kayla and Cerenity Schurr, Marissa and Macie Fernandez, Brianna and Alyssa Guillot. Brother of Nick Hannan, Rosemary Lagrange, Josie Touchet, Elizabeth Baudouin (James), Patricia Durappo (Scott) and the late Rose Marie and John Michael Hannan. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resided in Marrero, LA. Frank was Vice-President of Belle Chasse Marine Transportation, employed for over 35 years. In his “retirement” he could always be found at Boomtown Casino enjoying the games and his friends. Rene was preceded in death his parents, Rene Cognevich, Sr. and Clavena Cormier Cognevich; his wife, Margaret Hamby Cognevich. Nora Ann Falterman Von Bodungen Conrad passed away on March 2, 2017 at the age of 78. She was born in Algiers, Louisiana to the parents of Henry J. and Nora Ann Lombas Falterman (both deceased) on October 16, 1938 and two sisters Virgie F. Wetzel and Barbara F. Dantin (both deceased). She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gustave A. Von Bodungen. Survived by her second husband Baltzer John Conrad, Jr. She is also survived by six children, Gustave M. Von Bodungen and his wife Stephanie, David Von Bodungen and his wife Patricia, Paul Von Bodungen, Carl Von Bodungen and his wife Cynthia, Martha V. Aubert and her husband Allen, Jon Von Bodungen and his wife Michelle, and two children by marriage, Tracy C. James, Jeffery Conrad and his wife Terri. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her niece Shawn W. Garland and her husband David, and nephew Shad Wetzel and his wife Allison. Nora was a native of Algiers. She was a compassionate, dedicated nurse at the Metropolitan Development Center located in Plaquemines Parish. She opened her home to many of her patients to celebrate the holiday season and their birthdays. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff and all the care givers at the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and St. Joseph Hospice. The family will be eternally grateful for their kindness, compassion, and gentle care given to Nora Ann during her time of need. Harold J. Pellegrin entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Gavin Pellegrin; daughter, Jackie Wiegand; parents, Wilson and Cecile Eschette Pellegrin; and brothers, Daniel and Royal Pellegrin. He is beloved husband of Mary Mattison Pellegrin. Harold is devoted father of Martin Pellegrin, Jewel Roussel ( Allen), Kathleen Guidry (Michael). He is father-in-law of Charles Wiegand. He is loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and great-grandfather of many. He is the brother of Barbara Ates and Madeline Guillot. A native of Houma, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse for over 50 years, Harold was an air Force WW II Veteran serving in the 96 Bomber Group, 339th Division. He flew 27 missions in his plane, “ Pilgrims Progress” over Germany. Harold retired from Crescent Machine and Tool Company. He was a member of the Riverbend Senior Center and AARP Chapter 4034. Relatives and friends attended his funeral services on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Belle Chasse, LA.  Interment in OLPH Cemetery. John Anthony Tomasovich

Msgr. John Anthony Tomasovich was born New Orleans in on January 22, 1925. His elementary education was at Jefferson Davis in New Orleans, and his secondary education was at St. Aloysius in New Orleans and St. Joseph Seminary in St. Benedict, LA. He received his philosophy and theology education at St. Joseph Seminary and Notre Dame Seminary. He was ordained to the priesthood in New Orleans on May 22, 1948. Msgr. Tomasovich was awarded the Prelate of Honor in 1980. He served as assistant at St. Theresa in Gonzales, St. Joseph in Grosse Tete, Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego, and St. Christopher in Metairie. He served as Temporal Administrator at Annunciation Parish in New Orleans, and was pastor at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette and St. Andrew the Apostle in New Orleans. In addition to his pastoral assignments in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, he also served as Procurator-Advocate and Notary for the Metropolitan Tribunal, Director of Family Life, Dean of the St. Bernard Deanery, Algiers-Plaquemines Deanery, Chair of the Clergy Council, a member of the Archdiocesan School Board and Archdiocesan Boundary Commission, Director of Propagation of the Faith, and Director of Priest Retreats. Msgr. Tomasovich also served as the Moderator of the Catholic Men’s Association- American Cyanamid, Spiritual Director of the Particular Council No. 1, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and chaplain to the Army National Guard. Msgr. Tomasovich was living in Harvey, LA at the time of his death. Well done, good and faithful servant! He was also employed with Walmart as a forklift operator.
